January 16, 2006

I have not posted anything on here for a while....as my sister has clearly stated to me. She told me to start to blog, blog, blog...I introduces her to blogging and we like to read each others blogs...so (Nena...this is for you!!)
I now officially have a teenager. My daughter Kayla turned 13 on Friday. I had given her a choice of whether to throw her a birthday party or give her $100.00. She chose the money!!! I always let my kids skip school on their birthday and I make it a special day for them. We went shopping and Kayla got about 5 tops...a couple sweaters and a couple of those short jackets and a pair of black pants that look so cute on her. We then went and saw that new movie with Queen Latifah (I love her) called "Last Holiday" it was really funny and we both enjoyed our day immensely. That night Kayla had an all nighter with her teen group. They went shopping again and Kayla bought herself some new blue jeans(like she needs any more jeans) she stilled had money left over.So all-in-all I think that Kayla had a great birthday.
Yesterday at church I was told by the youth pastors wife that she needed to talk have a meeting with us at their house. I asked why...was it bad? She said that it was about something that happened at the all nighter. I was like uh oh. I could not imagine what Kayla would have done...she is such a well behaved child while she is away from home. (at home is another story) (lol) Well it turned out that some girls had carved names in the back of the youth pastor's couch and Kayla's name was on there. Kayla said that she did not do it and when I saw the writing I knew that she had not written it. It was not Kayla's writing. Kayla told her side of the story that she was behind the couch with a friend painting their nails when she looked and saw her name was written on the couch. She was upset and I guess she told the youth pastor's wife about it. Well it is taken care of because they know her writing and they had asked several girls that were there and they said that Kayla didn't do it. I know that she has not lied to me before (Yet) I am sure that it is coming but I am really glad to know that she can be trusted while she is away from me...it means I am doing something right.
Well I think that my New Years Resolution is going to be to get more organized!!! Also to get another house as well. One with closets space...lots and lots and lots of closet space! I am so sick of not having anywhere to put anything.
Well hubby is home now so I am going to cut this short. Will write more again soon.
